Cultural Quarantine (part two)
January 9 - February 21, 2004
Opening reception: Friday, January 9, 2004, 7:00 - 9:00pm
Exhibiting artists James Gouldthorpe, James Harbison, Packard Jennings, and Tom Ferentz of the Sixth Street Photography Workshop discuss their artistic practice. Friday January 9, 2004, 7:00pm
Packard Jennings is fascinated with American sociology and culture. Within his art is the desire to contribute in the dialogue of these problematic social issues. Past work includes “Pez: Fallen Rapper Prototypes”, dispensers of Tupac Shakur, Eazy-E and Biggie Smalls that were sent to Pez Candy Inc. with a letter proposing their production, and “The Centennial Society” a collection of handmade objects disguised as mass-produced commodities covertly installed in Wal-Mart department stores.
