Teaching + Mentoring Opportunities

Southern Exposure's Artists in Education program provides part-time paid jobs, professional development and teaching opportunities for more than 22 Bay Area artists annually through an ongoing series of year-round collaborative mentoring and teaching projects. Working with a variety of student populations with a focus on the underserved, teachers gain critical and relevant education development skills.

Current Teaching Job Opportunities:

Lead Teaching Artists for Southern Exposure’s 2022 Mission Voices Summer Program

Three Lead Teaching Artists will work with Southern Exposure’s Artists in Education Program Coordinator to collaborate with and teach approximately 20-40 youth in a series of in person workshops to produce visual arts projects based on a socially relevant theme. The program runs for 4 weeks: July 11 – August 4, 2022, Monday through Thursday, 2:00 – 5:00 PM. Each Lead artist will alternate teaching duties during in person workshops and hold gallery walkthrough/discussion sessions during the week of August 1. Each teaching artist will work a total of 40 hours over the course of the program which includes weekly meetings.
