Celebrate Southern Exposure's Future Anniversaries

Celebrate Southern Exposure's Future Anniversaries

In the midst of the challenges and difficulties of the past year – particularly the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the sustained economic crisis directly affecting our artist community – we have continued to deepen our commitment to Black, Indigenous, POC, LGBTQ+, and immigrant artists in all of our work. And even in the face of continued uncertainty, we have been honored to take time to pause and recognize some extraordinary milestones:

  • Our Alternative Exposure regranting program just marked its 15th year. As of this year, SoEx has distributed over one million dollars to local artists via this program.
  • We adapted the 20th year of our beloved Monster Drawing Rally into an outdoor block party.
  • We were honored to present Interconnected, our 30th annual Juried Show.

In just two short years, Southern Exposure will celebrate our 50th anniversary, a phenomenal testament to the  vitality of our local arts community, and of the crucial role SoEx plays providing space, resources, and support for experimental Bay Area artists.

However, the next 50 years of SoEx won’t be possible without your support. We invite you to join us in celebrating our future anniversaries and powering the work that is yet to come by making a donation today. We need to raise $55,000 from our community by the end of the year to ensure we have a strong start to 2022. Even as we look back with awe and gratitude at all we’ve accomplished together,  we believe that the best is yet to come.
