Fred Turner joins Robby Herbst in conversation about the influence of Stewart Brand, the New Games Movement and Californian techno-libertarianism. Herbst's New New Games will culminate in a large-scale participatory project to be presented by Southern Exposure at an off-site location in Spring 2016.

Fred Turner is the Harry and Norman Chandler Professor of Communication at Stanford University in the Department of Communication at Stanford University and is the author of The Democratic Surround: Multimedia and American Liberalism from World War II to the Psychedelic Sixties (University of Chicago Press, 2013) and From Counterculture to Cyberculture: Stewart Brand, the Whole Earth Network, and the Rise of Digital Utopianism (University of Chicago Press, 2006).
