In S/HE WORE…  Marisa Hernandez indulges in sexy lace, sumptuous satin and the infamous blue velvet in an exploration of “feminine” fabrics and fashion conventions. Are women biologically predestined for slinky materials, accessories and baubles? By fusing the masculine-coded (“hardware”) with the feminine-coded (“software), Hernandez scrambles mechanistic fashion codes based on binary gender codes.
