Luncheon

Josh Greene

Luncheon

April 18 - May 24, 2003

Closing reception: May 24, 2003,6:00 - 8:00 pm

Responding to the difficulties inherent in running a non-profit art space during this time of economic crisis, Josh Greene, for his solo exhibition entitled Luncheon, will lovingly prepare home-cooked lunches for the Southern Exposure administrative staff.  Key individuals in the community will join the staff every Friday for an intimate lunch in the gallery.  The combination of individuals present at the table and the delectable meals will contribute to a nourishing dialogue.  Greene has a history of continually challenging our pre-conceived notions of public and private social interactions.  In 2000, Greene started a restaurant called Eat.  Located in his studio apartment, Greene carefully crafted cuisine served by a professional waitperson while he remained hidden in the kitchen.  Similarly, for the duration of Luncheon, Greene will be providing food and a ripe setting for lively discussion.
