Daniel Nevers

Laughing on the Inside

During his recent month-long residency at Southern Exposure, artist Daniel Nevers used everyday construction materials from "the depot" (Home Depot) to build a site specific, large-scale installation, Laughing on the Inside. Through the use of materials such as wheelbarrows, step ladders, push brooms, buckets, and plungers, Nevers examines the idea that do-it-yourself is the new self-help. Come by SoEx to see how he has transformed the storefront gallery as a response to these ideas.

Daniel would like to thank fellow artists Jennifer Brandon, Reiko Kubota, Sandra Ono and Jennie Ottinger for their assistance and support with this installation.
