Kenn Bass’s installation Bee Movie not only uses video as a vehicle for images, but incorporates the body of the viewer “in an attempt to avoid the trap of passive spectatorship.” In examining the distance between experience and language, he focuses on patterns of recognition, codes of mimicry as drawn from nature, and how the consequences of manipulation can suggest multiple points of view.
