Jennie Ottinger was raised in Massachusetts and currently lives in San Francisco, CA. She got her BFA from California College of the Arts and earned an MFA from Mills College. She has exhibited extensively in the San Francisco Bay Area as well as in New York, Miami, Dallas, Los Angeles and London. She was awarded an Investing in Artists grant from Center for Cultural Innovation, a fellowship at the Kala Art Institute, the Sara Lewis Scholarship Award from Mills College and was a 2010 finalist for the SECA award. Ms. Ottinger's reviews have appeared in Art in America, San Francisco Chronicle, ArtSlant, Daily Serving, Its Nice That, Hyperallergic, Artsy Editorial and Huffington Post. She recently had an installation on view at the Contemporary Jewish Museum in San Francisco in a group show about Amy Winehouse and has an upcoming exhibit at Berkeley Art Center in July.
