John Chiara, a San Francisco native and photographer who is re-knowned for his dreamy and foggy photographs of landscapes and architecture. Chiara works from a large scale handmade camera and has traveled the world taking photogrpahs. In 2006, Chiara completed his first photogravure project with Crown Point Press. His work is in the permanent collections of the National Gallery of Art, D.C.; Pilara Foundation, Pier 24 Photography, the J. Paul Getty Museum and many others. His work is the subject of a newly released monograph published by Aperture.
