I am who I am
A Youth Advisory Board Final Project
July 12, 2008 from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm @ Southern Exposure
Artist Mentors: Eve Ekman, Tara Foley and Sham Saenz
Youth Artist Mentor: Javier Gutierrez

The Youth Advisory Board is proud to present a final show entitled I am who I am. Every Monday for six months young San Francisco artists have engaged in weekly discussion, gallery field trips, drawing, collaborative collage, graffiti, stenciling, photography and guest artist workshops. Through this process, YAB has developed an artistic vocabulary to communicate the experience of every day life and questions of self-realization into art. For this final show, YAB uses the structure of pyramids to represent different facets and dimensions of identity that make up the self. Join us for an afternoon of celebrating the art installation with live drawing, interactive art projects and a BBQ in the back!

YAB, created in November 2001, is a group of high school students, college students and community leaders from diverse communities throughout the Bay Area. YAB serves as a task force to empower youth through arts advocacy, events and workshops.

Youth Advisory Board Members are: Allyson Cook, Estefan Gomez, Martin Gurrola, Javier Gutierrez, Bryon Kevin Marcelino, James Orellana, Maxine Puorro, Byron Ramos, Diego Rodrigues, Sophia Schnieder, Nathaniel Galpeau, Diego Zuna and Daniel Lemus
