Spring 2020 One-On-One Mentorship Program
Pairing passionate advanced youth artists with professional artist mentors
Program dates: Weekly, January – May 2020
Interested mentors and mentees: The spring 2020 mentorship program is already in session, but we are still accepting a limited number of mentors and mentees on a rolling basis through early February. Please contact Simon Tran, Artists in Education Coordinator, at [email protected] to apply today!
Southern Exposure's One-on-One Mentorship Program offers youth artists, ages 16–21, the opportunity to develop and produce a project with a professional artist mentor who works in an area or medium of their interest. The program offers youth artists, of all skill levels, a professional space and forum to work on their portfolio, to gain the skills to get into art school, or take their artistic practice to the next level.
Youth selected for this program meet with an artist mentor every week during the school year to share each other’s skills, creative pursuits and develop a project that will be on view to the public at Southern Exposure's gallery in May 2020. Youth artists also work with other artists in the program for informal critiques, workshops and field trips.
