Artists Piero Passacantando and Neftalí Carreira with youth from the Columbia Park Boys & Girls Club build off of the silk screening skills developed in Scream Print I in the fall of 2007 with Scream Print II in 2008. Students will create work that responds to the Boys & Girls Club community and the surrounding Mission district. Boys and Girls Club youth will collaborate on developing a brand or logo, which embodies their experiences and feelings about their communities. Taking their brand, they will create a socially conscious line of clothing with sewing and screen printing techniques, as well as a series of posters, based on the same umbrella concept. The posters will be displayed on a wall for the public to view on Valencia Street between 23rd and 24th Streets. The class will culminate with a fashion show in June. Stay tuned!
