The Painting Salon

Established in 2012, The Painting Salon is a monthly nomadic lecture series, co-curated by Cate Nelson and Sarah Thibault, dedicated to fostering the diverse community of studio practices in the Bay Area. Each month two artists present their work in front of their peers, arts professionals, and the public. Starting in 2017, writers will be invited to respond to the presentations and their contributions will be published on the project website. The Alternative Exposure grant supports project expenses, including presenter and writer stipends.
