SoExchange: Artists Teaching Artists Professional Development Workshop Series
Southern Exposure's series of professional and creative development workshops for the artist community.

Every Fall and Spring season Southern Exposure invites arts professionals (practicing artists, curators, gallerists, and administrators) to teach workshops in specified areas of production and professional development. All workshops are open to the public, and are free for Southern Exposure members.

This workshop will provide an overview and a discussion of terms and issues including registration, infringement, fair-use and licensing. This is a great opportunity to learn about ownership and protection of your work.


How Do I Make My Art Public Art?

A panel discussion exploring how to see a public art project through: from proposal to installation. Topics will include; general information about the public art community in the Bay Area; tips for creating a successful public art proposal from determining the scope of project, establishing a budget, managing the fabrication and installation, and maintaining communication with sponsoring organizations; advice on researching legal issues surrounding your project; discussion about the advantages and disadvantages to mounting a guerilla style project.
