Southern Exposure’s One-on-One Mentorship Program pairs artist mentors with young artists to collaborate on a project, share ideas and engage in research and discussion. Students are matched with an arts professional in their field of interest who supports the growth of the youth as an artist and member of the community. Mentors and mentees develop a project together over the course of the school year, meeting weekly at SoEx. Mentors nurture the youth’s creative ideas by offering support and guidance, helping to set and meet goals, and share skills, knowledge, and expertise.
