Untitled two 2squares, burnt wire and plaster, 7" x 15" 10", 2008
Similar to a single musical note being the basis for complex melodies, this sculptural moment embodies a simple gesture of how all objects appear as they do. Utilizing line, surface, and volume, I strived for a synergy in the object. When a zenith of sculptural elements is reached the sculpture visually hums. This work finds objecthood the way that color usually finds emotion.

45, from the series Mostly After Dark, archival pigment print, 16" x 20", 2004
This series of images describe a non-specific narrative. They are an attempt to capture a quiet still lingering, a kind of disassociation. It seems truer for this story to have gaps in it and not very much information about the ending. Like watching a movie in a foreign language without subtitles, apprehending the general narrative but escaping the details.

On a Hill Under a Raven Sky, We Dream of Rainbows; gouache and spray paint on cut paper; 11" x 14"; 2007
This work was made while I was living in Tasmania, Australia, during a residency in 2007. Tasmania is a place where the weather changes so frequently people are fond of saying you experience all four seasons daily. I found this to be true and especially appreciated it while visiting a friend who lived way up in the hills with a fantastic view of the ever changing sky. The medium of gouache is great for capturing the random patterns of moisture in the cloudy sky during a rain storm.
