Mark Thompson's experiential, sculptural environments and performances have been exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, Kunstlerhaus Bethanien, Berlin, Whitechapel Art Gallery, London, the M.H. De Young Memorial Museum and the Center for the Arts, Yerba  Buena Gardens, San Francisco.  He is the recipient of awards and fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, The Japan-U.S. Friendship Commission, The Flintridge Foundation, AVA 11: Award in the Visual Arts, and the California Arts Council.  Currently, he is a Professor and Chair of the sculpture program at the California College of the Arts  in San Francisco and Oakland.  Education: BA, MA - U.C.
