Anna Von Mertens received her BA from Brown University in 1995 and her MFA from California College of Arts and Crafts in 2000. Her 2003 installation at the Berkeley Art Museum, MATRIX 207/Suggested North Points, is traveling to the University Art Museum, University of California, Santa Barbara in 2005. Her work has also been exhibited at the Center for Curatorial Studies Museum, Bard College, Annandale-on-Hudson, New York; Gallery Paule Anglim, San Francisco; Lizabeth Oliveria Gallery, Los Angeles; Pasadena Museum of California Art, Pasadena; Southern Exposure, San Francisco; Mills College Art Museum, Oakland; The Museum of Art and History, Santa Cruz; Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and the Bedford Gallery in Walnut Creek, California.
She has also participated in numerous residencies: The MacDowell Colony, Peterborough, New Hampshire in 2002; the San Francisco Arts Education Project in 2001; and Headlands Center for the Arts, Sausalito, California in 2000 and 2001.
