Zoey Kroll creates edible landscapes and food art. Her Urban Homesteader and Eco-Citizen Trading Cards encourage green flirting—playful exchanges of goods and talents. Since childhood, she has self-published comics with her family. "Family Farm in the City" follows their journey from the 1970s back-to-the-land movement to today's interest in urban Victory Gardens. For the past year, Zoey has been teaching children to grow vegetables and take photos at the Chinatown branch of A Living Library, an organization that transforms concrete schoolyards into gardens. She has exhibited, performed, and held artist residencies at venues in France, the Czech Republic, and throughout the U.S., including the Exploratorium, SF Cinematheque, The Lab, and Sister Spit in San Francisco, and the New Museum of Contemporary Art in NY. Her video shorts have screened at the NY Mix Festival, NewFest, the Madcat Women's International Film Festival, and the Knitting Factory. Zoey is a partner and information architect at CivicActions, a technology firm that builds online tools for activist organizations, including the Witness Video Hub and Amnesty International.
