Theo Rigby began photographing at age 20 and received a degree in Documentary Photography from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco at 23. Upon graduation he began life as a freelance photographer, shooting editorially for newspapers and magazines, as well as producing long-term social documentary projects. He has completed projects on Migrant Workers in South Korea, Childhood Asthma in America, and most recently has followed families with fallen U.S. Soldiers, examining the repercussions of the War in Iraq, in America. His clients include: Newsweek, The New York Times, National Geographic France, People, French Elle, Der Spiegel, Stern, The Sunday London Times, and others. His work has been exhibited at San Francisco City Hall, and at the 2005 Visa pour L’Image festival in Perpignan, France. Theo has also shot and directed four short documentary films about the War in Iraq and is involved in numerous programs teaching and mentoring youth.
