Suzy Poling grew up in Michigan and lived in Chicago for 7 years while she attended Columbia College of Chicago. Poling is a conceptual photographer who has developed her aesthetic with experimental sound art, installation, fiber art and performance. She is currently a resident of the San Francisco Bay Area and is working as an exhibiting artists, editorial photographer and youth instructor. She managed a photography, drawing and writing program called Snap for 5 years with teens in Chicago’s Wicker Park. Her work has been published in regional and national magazines as well as many art books. Poling is a previous artist in residence at Bemis Center for Contemporary Art and is currently represented at Zg Gallery in Chicago.
