Art Micro-Patronage is a web-based platform for supporting contemporary artists featuring monthly curated shows of digital, new media, and intermedia work. Art Micro-Patronage has an invested interest in the ability for artists featured online to be able to continue their work through recognition and compensation. Adopting the model of Facebook’s “Like” button or clickable star ratings systems, visitors navigate through the exhibitions and are encouraged to become micro patrons of the arts, associating their appreciation of the works with small monetary values.
